Abstract

Scientific evidence indicates over time that the use of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs produces a strong impact on the health of those who use them, in addition to being associated
with multiple familial, social, political, and economic issues. Therefore, the high morbidity and mortality rates associated with the use of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs
increase the burden of disease and the associated disability (Whiteford et al., 2013).
